2023 NFL Playoffs bracket: A round-up look at divisional level, schedule with Bengals and Bills facing off against AFC

Super Wild Card Weekend was wild to say the least. On Saturday, the San Francisco team went 49 of 25 second-half points to defeat the rival Seattle Seahawks Trevor Lawrence threw four straight touchdowns after throwing four consecutive interceptions to complete the third-largest comeback in NFL history after going down 27-0 to the Los Angeles Chargers . Sunday was also full of surprises.

Skylar Thompson and the Miami Dolphins gave the Buffalo Bills a massive scare, the New York Giants upset the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis behind a great performance from Daniel Jones and then the Cincinnati Bengals won a close game with the Baltimore Ravens.

Next week, the #1-ranked Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles both enter the fray. Remember, the first round of the playoffs didn’t help last year’s No. 1 ranked teams, as both the Tennessee Titans and Green Bay Packers were upset in the second round of the playoffs. What will happen this year? Below we’ll break down the NFL divisional round schedule, tee times, spreads and more. We are one round closer to Super Bowl LVII.

These two teams faced off in November, where the leaders were defeated by the Jaguars, 27-17. Jacksonville’s defense struggled to stop Patrick Mahomes, who threw for 331 yards and four touchdowns and an interception. But the Jaguars defense has been playing good ball lately. They scored the game-winning goal against the Titans in Week 18 to earn a playoff berth, then held the Chargers to just three points in the second half on Saturday night as they waited for the offense to form after a nightmare start.

It says something about the Jags that they were able to bounce back and complete the third-largest comeback in NFL postseason history, and Lawerence deserves a lot of the credit. On his first seven carries, he completed 5 of 18 passes for 35 yards and four interceptions. In his last five drives, he completed 23 of 29 passes for 253 yards and four touchdowns to seal a 31-30 victory.

Looking into next weekend, the Jaguars offense can’t afford a slow start against what is statistically the biggest offense in the league. Hopefully, we’re in the crossfire, with both commercial strikes strikes.

(3) Cincinnati Bengals at (2) Buffalo Bills

It feels right that we got this match. Bills vs. Fortunately, he recovered, and the two teams were able to refocus on soccer. It looked like we were in a penalty shootout before this unfortunate event happened, and now, we’re getting a rematch.

The Bills defeated the Dolphins in Super Wild Card weekend, 34-31, but it didn’t feel like a huge victory. Despite playing a third-string rookie quarterback, Skylar Thompson and the Dolphins lost a 17-0 run in the second quarter to tie the game with 33 seconds left in the first half, then the defense recovered a fumble for a touchdown early in the second half. Halve to get 20-24 bullets. While Buffalo eventually had a win, the Bills were Biggest Favorites in NFL Wild-Card Tour History. They didn’t exactly live up to expectations.

Josh Allen threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns, but also threw two interceptions and had three fumbles, one of which was lost. Buffalo can’t lose a turnover battle against Cincinnati if it wants to advance to the AFC Championship game.

Cincinnati didn’t put in an incredibly impressive performance at Super Wild Card Weekend either, with Joe Burrow and Co. Downing the Ravens, 24-17. Tyler Huntley and JK Dobbins gave Sensei a run for her money, but A.J 98 yards fumble recovery touchdown Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard finished early in the fourth quarter on being the game-winning touchdown target.

Both teams will have to play better to move forward. I’m not sure how many people expected Miami to drop 31 points over Buffalo with a third-string quarterback, or for the Ravens to post 364 yards of total offense with a hit quarterback.

(6) New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (1)

when: Saturday, 8:15 p.m. ET
television: Fox | Stream: FuboTV
Line: Eagles -7.5, O/U 47.5

Here’s a divisional match in the divisional round. The Eagles swept the season series with the Giants this year, outscoring them by 26 points in December, then Davis Webb kept a close rematch in the regular season finale, with the Giants ultimately losing, 22-16.

The Giants offense looked pretty impressive in their 31-24 win over Vikings Sunday. Daniel Jones became the first player in NFL playoff history to record over 300 receiving yards, two pass completions and 70 receiving yards in his first postseason start, while Isaiah Hodgins caught eight passes for 105 yards and a touchdown. Saquon Barkley wasn’t shabby either, recording 109 yards from scrimmage and scoring on two touchdowns. Sunday marked the Giants’ first win since Super Bowl XLVI against the New England Patriots on February 5, 2012.

While the Giants managed to take advantage of a poor defense in the first round of the playoffs, an even tougher challenge awaits them next weekend. The Eagles are the only team in the NFL with three best offense and defense in the top three, as they have looked like an elite team since the start of the 2022 season. Philly will be swinging as Jalen Hurts takes the field for his second career playoff start.
